Plantronics 8400 One Touch Operation Allows You to Place, Answer and End Calls Without Lifting the Telephone Handset
Connects into the adjunct port of Avaya Definity 7400 & 8400 series DCP sets enabling a simple one-touch answer feature for a Plantronics headset
Not compatible with other Avaya phones
Does not accept 2-prong amplifiers (like 500AM did)
Note: the 7404 and 7407 sets may not have an adjunct connection available!
One Touch hook switch control with a green status indicator
One Touch microphone mute control with a green status indicator
Rotary dial receive volume control
Includes 10 foot coil cord with Plantronics quick disconnect (QD)
To place a call: press the middle button labeled "ON/OFF" so that the color indicator is visible (you should hear a dial tone) - dial normally
To end the call, press the "ON/OFF" button so that the color indicator is no longer visible
AGC (automatic gain control) compression circuit is virtually identical to the acoustic limiting algorithms in the M12
AC power supply included (required for operation)
Does not have dual 3.5mm plug prong ports for connectivity to a soundcard
Not compatible with recording jack (GN-9000RJ-01) because recording jack requires handset size modular connection
Modular connection to phone is large Avaya adjunct size, and modular connection to 8400 is RJ11 size
Note: prior to 2011 the 8400 had an Avaya logo (now it has the Plantronics logo)
